...for those who cry out for love and justice
ALL MEANS ALL
EAST LONGMEADOW UMC
IS A RECONCILING
CONGREGATION
WELCOME TO THE EAST LONGMEADOW METHODIST CHURCH
We invite you to join us each Sunday in worship where the inclusive love of the gospel is proclaimed in word, music and ritual. We’re a vibrant congregation of all ages, with nursery care and Sunday School during worship for the young ones or rocking chairs for nursing caregivers right in the sanctuary.
We have long had a commitment to our youth programs and a small but committed group of twenty/thirty-somethings seeking fellowship and spiritual growth.
True to our Methodist heritage, we emphasize personal faith and social responsibility. Our congregation has been active in Habitat for Humanity, Heifer Project International and sponsoring a Somali refugee family. We also founded Pioneer Valley Free Health Services which provided health care to uninsured and underinsured individuals for 20 years until its closing in 2017. More recently we have been involved in regional urban ministries such as JFON (Justice for Our Neighbors, immigrant legal aid), Revitalize Springfield, New Hope Regional Ministries, and mission teams to New Orleans.
Our challenge together is to not only find God in the warm hospitality amongst the body of Christ gathered on Sunday mornings, but also to ask ourselves where God is in the stranger and where are those places of no hope. Our mission is to identify those situations where we are called to risk ourselves in raising the level of hope for those who need our love and justice.
For more information, check out the current happenings on our Facebook page, or call/email me. I'm committed to help you find a place of belonging and challenge where you can grow and serve—whether that is our congregation or another.
Shalom,
Pastor Katherine
